“GRAND PARK” celebrates a grand opening weekend!
The County of Los Angeles and The Music Center officially opened the first two blocks of Los Angeles County’s Grand Park, located in downtown Los Angeles, with 3 days of celebration, including a civic Grand Park Dedication Ceremony on Thursday, July 26 and public inaugural events on Saturday, July 28 in conjunction with National Dance Day and Sunday, July 29 for Sunday Music in the Park. National Dance Day Celebration - 10:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Presented by The Music Center and The Dizzy Feet Foundation
Join “So You Think You Can Dance’s” Nigel Lythgoe and others from the show at the official west coast National Dance Day Celebration. Experience dancing outdoors, learn easy and fun moves alongside fellow Angelenos, and enjoy a special performance by IRIS from Cirque du Soleil. Free community dance classes, youth performances, and family-friendly festivities will be featured throughout the day. No dance experience necessary. Just bring your energy and everyone you know! Queztal & Friends
Queztal is a collective of East Side musicians committed to respectfully continuing the legacy of over 70 years of Chicano Rock.
Fanny Franklin and the Gents
Fanny Franklin is a soul, jazz and funk singer from LA. She has toured the world with artists like Macy Gray and sings lead in daKAh hip hop Orchestra as well as LA funk band Orgone.
Fool's Gold
Fool's Gold is a Los Angeles band that weaves together western pop aesthetics with African rhythms and melodies.
Food available for purchase from Patina Group starting at just $5! Smoked, pulled pork sandwiches, 'Tina’s Tacos, Grand Park Hot Dogs and Salads.
